The Baptism of The Holy Spirit

 I greet you all in the name of Jesus Christ.

If we read in Bible we see in Act-1:8 Acts "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Hear we read when the Holy Spirit will come upon you, you shall receive power.

So first of all let us see what is the Holy Spirit?

Bible says that Holy spirit is the spirit of God or a part of trinity or triune God. What a joy when God himself comes & dwells in us, what a joy when God himself comes & dwells in our fragile body. If we read in John 14:23----Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. Lord says we(father & son) will come to him & make our home with him. 1 Cor 6:19 says---Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? All these verses say that God likes to dwell in a person. God wants to make a person his own temple.

But question is who is eligible for this experience? Who can get the anointing of the Holy Spirit? Let us see what the Bible says about this.

Bible clearly says that a person who is saved or blood washed, a person whose sins are forgiven is eligible for this great experience.

Now what is salvation? Let us see the meaning of salvation or forgiveness of sins.

Some people say if you are born in a Christian family you will certainly reach heaven. Some say God is love He will never send any body to hell fire. Some say that God created us, so is He going to send His own creation to hell? Some say that all the people who are living normal life will reach heaven except great sinners like: thieves, murderers & so on.

But Bible says clearly that only the person, who is washed by the blood of Jesus Christ, only the person, whose sins are forgiven, will reach heaven.

What can cleanse a person, nothing but the blood of Jesus Christ?
What can make us whole & holy? nothing but the shed blood of Jesus Christ
If we read in 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we read in Heb 9:22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.

My dear friends get this great experience of salvation, if you are not having till today. If you are not born again, if you are not saved till today get this great experience.

Now if you are a blood washed person, if you are a saved person, you are eligible to receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

If we read in Joel 2:28 "And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. It’s a free gift of God. God wants to give everybody this experience. God wants to pour His spirit on all flesh.

Let us see what happens when the Holy Spirit comes.

1. First thing- Holy Spirit preserves our soul.

2 Tim 1:14 says--- That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. Here we see Holy Spirit helps us to keep on going & growing in the Lord. Holy Spirit keep on reminding us that you are a blood washed person, you have a place in heaven. You have to live a holy life; you have to walk in godly ways. Every time when we go through greater trials & sufferings the Holy Spirit reminds us that you have a place in heaven. & Holy Spirit helps us to grow in the Lord. Holy Spirit helps us to walk in our earthly journey.

2.Second thing - Holy spirit brigs power. Power for what?

Power to preach the Gospel :I

If we read acts 1:8 When Holy spirit will come you shall receive power. In Acts 10:38 we read "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. We see that the Lord Jesus was filled with Holy spirit & power. He was preaching the good news. He was healing people & doing things. If we read in Isa 61:1 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; Lord Jesus was filled with the Holy spirit & God's power that's why He could fulfill God's will & even He could accept the death of cross to save mankind.

Power to know God's mind:

Dan 2: we read that King Nebuchadnezzar sees a dream & he tells to magician & astrologer to tell his dream with its meaning, but nobody was able nobody was able to tell his dream. If we read in, Dan 2:11 “It is a difficult thing that the king requests, and there is no other who can tell it to the king except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.”
They said to King can tell the dream except God & later we see how Daniel could tell the dream of King & its meaning. Why? Because Daniel was a spirit filled man.

If we read in Dan 4:8 But at last Daniel came before me (his name is Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god; in him is the Spirit of the Holy God), and I told the dream before him, saying:  Dan 4:9 "Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, because I know that the Spirit of the Holy God is in you, and no secret troubles you, explain to me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and its interpretation. Dan 5:14 "I have heard of you, that the Spirit of God is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.

Secondly we read about Elisha who was a Prophet & Spirit filled man. He could know the things which King of syria said in his bedroom. He was knowing what the King of syria was planning against the King of Israel. Why? because the Elisha was a Spirit filled man.

It is indeed a marvelous experience, when you are a spirit filled person you can know the mind of God. You can know God's will & you can walk in His holiness.

Lord Jesus I want the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. Give me your power, power to live a holy life, power to walk in your ways. Give me power to know you more & more. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
